Terms of service

Last updated 26 September 2026

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are a binding agreement between MyPathsala (“MyPathsala”, “we”, “us”, “our”) and the school, school group, trust or institute that registers for or uses our platform, apps and website (together, the “Service”, and you as the “Customer” or “you”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you accept on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to bind it. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The service

MyPathsala is a subscription school management platform: admissions and student records, attendance, timetables, exams and report cards, fees and online payments, staff and payroll, parent and teacher apps, communication over app notifications, SMS, WhatsApp and email, reports, and school websites. We may add, change or improve features over time and will not materially reduce the core features of your plan during a paid term.

2. Eligibility and accounts

To use the Service you must provide accurate registration information, be legally capable of entering this agreement, and keep your account and staff credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your accounts, for giving staff only the access their role needs, and for telling us promptly about any unauthorised use.

3. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the accuracy of the data your school enters; for obtaining the consents required from parents, guardians and staff for the data you store and the messages you send, including verifiable parental consent for children’s data; and for using the Service in line with applicable education, telecom and messaging (including DLT registration and consent rules), tax and data-protection laws.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including by sending spam or unlawful messages, violating the privacy of students, parents or staff, infringing intellectual property or other rights, uploading malicious code, attempting to access another school’s data, or reselling the Service without our permission. We may suspend accounts that put other schools’ data or the platform at risk.

5. Subscriptions, billing and taxes

Paid plans are billed monthly or yearly in advance, as shown on the pricing page when you subscribe, plus applicable taxes such as GST. Upgrades take effect immediately; cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. If an invoice is not paid by its due date, the school keeps access for a grace period and then becomes read-only until payment is made. Except where required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable.

6. Free trial

Where offered, a free trial gives access to the selected plan for the stated period without a card. At the end of the trial your account becomes a paid subscription only if you choose to subscribe; otherwise the school becomes read-only. We may change or withdraw trial offers at any time.

7. Fees collected from parents

School fees that parents pay online go to the school’s own payment gateway account. The school is responsible for its fee structures, receipts, refunds of school fees and its relationship with parents; we provide the tools and are not a party to those payments.

8. Customer data and privacy

You keep all rights to the data your school enters (“Customer Data”). You grant us the limited rights needed to host, process and provide the Service and support. We handle personal data as described in our Privacy Policy and act as a Data Processor for the records your school controls.

9. Third-party services

The Service works with third parties such as payment gateways and SMS, WhatsApp and email providers. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms, and we are not responsible for their acts, omissions, availability or fees.

10. Intellectual property

The MyPathsala platform, software, templates and brand are owned by us and our licensors. These Terms do not transfer any ownership of our intellectual property to you; you receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service during your subscription.

11. Availability and support

We aim to keep the Service available and reliable and to provide support through the channels on our website and in the product. Planned maintenance and events beyond our reasonable control may cause occasional interruptions, for which we are not liable.

12. Disclaimers

The Service supports school administration; academic, disciplinary and admission decisions remain the responsibility of the school. Except as required by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MyPathsala will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the fees you paid for the Service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold MyPathsala harmless from claims, losses and expenses arising out of your Customer Data, your use of the Service in breach of these Terms, or your violation of applicable law or third-party rights.

15. Suspension and termination

You may cancel at any time from your account. We may suspend or terminate access for non-payment, breach of these Terms or risk to the platform, giving notice where practicable. On termination you may export your Customer Data during a notice period, after which it may be deleted in line with our Privacy Policy.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new “last updated” date and, for material changes, give additional notice. Continued use of the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

17. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to any mandatory rights you may have, the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service.
